SPIRAL-DAY OF THE DEFEATED-EPISODE 8-2 STARS

This episode is kind of lame, ’cause it entails a lot of dialogue and useless scenes that doesn’t progress the plot in any way. Madoka gets home, and is looking for her dinner, but Ayumu’s not home. Apparently, he’s still cut up about losing to Ryo, and leaving Hiyono behind.

He decides to call home to tell Madoka that he’s gonna crash at a friend’s place for the night. Wait a minute, what friends? I’ve never seen him talk to anybody but Hiyono, so I must be missing something. Madoka has no problem with it, but says she’d be distraught if he ended up disappearing like his brother.

Well I don’t know if that will happen, but Ayumu is definitely following down that path. He should have just dropped this in the hands of the law, but if he would have done that, I wouldn’t be able to write about this exciting series, so I’ll just shut up talking about that.

So now Ayumu is gonna spend the night on a park bench, sinking deeper into his brother’s shadow wondering if Kyotaka would have made the same decisions. First of all, why compare yourself to anybody?

Was Kyotaka able to slap together delicious gourmet dinners every night? No, so who cares that he’s been missing for 2 years? Let’s hope he never comes back, why should Madoka get used to carry out and cold cuts?

During this series, there has been speculation that Kyotaka is not dead, but possibly in seclusion somewhere, still trying to solve the mystery of the Blade Children. Maybe he couldn’t figure them out, and just decided to hide his face from society to avoid ridicule.

If this is true, then Kyotoka is nothin’ but a big egomaniac, and has no regard for the family that he left behind. But doesn’t Ayumu also have an ego? After all, why would anybody play these crazy ass mind games with the Blade Kids that could lead to death? Oh wait, I said I wouldn’t talk about that, my bad.

HOWEVER, if neither one of them had an ego, why feel the need to prove anything to anybody, who cares what other people think?

Now while Hiyono is still being held by Kosuke, she decides to ask him about the Blade Children. He gets offended by this, and tells her to shut her trap, but what’s the big secret? Whatever they are, we know that they suffer from some kind of a genetic condition, because of the missing rib.

Are they mutants? Probably not, ’cause they look just like every other human walking the Earth. I guess we’ll just have to progress further into the series to see if any other clues regarding their origin is revealed. Who knows, maybe there was some experiment performed on them which may explain their antisocial behavior. Maybe the “Blade Children” is just some name that they give themselves because it sounds cool.

After doing some major soul searching (I guess), Ayumu is back for another challenge with the Blade Children. Good luck little Narumi!
