I’m kind of sore that this episode wasn’t more entertaining, instead it ended up being so predictable. We pick up where we left off from episode 7, when Muraki died, supposedly.
Right off the bat, this should raise some serious eyebrows, how in the world can Muraki go down so easily? A better question, what dummy believes that he’s really dead?
Well, two names come to mind at the moment, Tsuzuki, and Hisoka. Being shinigamis, you’d think they would know better, but they don’t, and the murders continue. The problem is, the writers try to turn this into some huge mystery, but they fail tremendously ’cause we know Muraki can’t be dead.
First of all, we know that he’s one powerful dude, remember when he and Tsuzuki went at it in the first couple of episodes? Excuse me, but when I say ”went at it”, I mean fighting, so please keep your mind out of the gutter.
Also, in the last episode, Muraki mentioned something about his death, with a smile on his face I might add, so immediately I knew he was gonna try something. Low and behold, he’s laying in the bed, dead, with a whole bunch of crap around him. Hey, this is a good opportunity for somebody to throw the body overboard, why have a rotting corpse smelling up the ship?
Problem is, there are a lot of dead bodies piling up, but everyone aboard the ship is clueless as to who might be the culprit. Some people start pointing fingers at Princess Tsubaki’s father, who owns the ship. Not only that, but with every dead body, a note and a tarot card is attached, saying, “This is a gift from someone who truly loves you.”
Well, who else truly loves her, besides her father? I’m not sure, but Hisoka could be a front runner, as I think he’s got a crush on Tsubaki, even though I don’t know why. Speaking of that chick, she tells Hisoka how torn up she is over Muraki’s death, after all, he was her doctor for several years, and now he’s gone.
Hisoka tells her that Muraki really isn’t all that, and CRACK!! She slaps Hisoka across the face, and she actually left a bruise, just look at it! “HOW DARE YOU PUT YOUR DIRTY PAWS ON HISOKA, YOU SKANK!”
Now Hisoka feels really badly, and dresses up in a tuxedo to bring flowers to Tsubaki and make amends. Good, he arrived just in time to see another dead body lying around. Tsuzuki spends time trying to analyze the tarot cards, and eliminating suspects, but it’s kind of boring to watch, ’cause we know who’s really behind all this, we just don’t know why.
Now enough of that, let’s get back to Hisoka who’s about to open his mouth wider this time, and spills the beans about who he is, and why he hates Muraki. “Hisoka, don’t you know anything about what it means to be undercover? Not only that, but no one really wants to hear about your issues with Muraki, you should have taken him out as soon as you saw him on the ship.”
“Since you didn’t do that, you need to get over it, and keep your big trap shut!” To create more drama, Hisoka stabs himself in the hand with a knife, to prove to Tsubaki that he is indeed a death god. Oh my goodness, NO, NO, NOOOOOOOOOO! Whatever.
