Take a good look at one of Ayumu’s teachers, Mr. Imazato, ’cause he won’t be around long. But first, let’s check in with Ayumu who happens to be daydreaming in class. He’s probably thinking about what he’s gonna cook for dinner tonight, or what kind of hair gel he needs to buy.
Mr. Imazato pulls him aside to have a little talk with him, telling him things like he doesn’t give himself enough credit, he needs to believe in himself more, and blah, blah, blah.
Then he throws Ayumu a curve by saying his nightmarish destiny will engulf him. Okay, what in the hell is that supposed to mean? It looks like Imazato has some kind of connection with the Blade Children.
On the phone with Eyes, Imazato tells him that they need to stop trying to kill Ayumu. After all, if he’s dead, who’s gonna save them from their tragic fate (whatever that’s supposed to be)? Imazato threatens to tell Ayumu everything about them, so Eyes decide to take him out, and uses the clumsy and crazy Rio (also a Blade Child) to do it.
Meanwhile, Hiyono is able to get a dossier about the cute and witty Kousuke, so now we know that his mother was killed in an accident when he was 3, sounds familiar, right? We also know that he started his antisocial behavior started early, when he attacked a teacher some time ago.
Okay, so that’s not much to go on, but who do you think Hiyono is, the FBI? Now Mr. Imazato finds Ayumu in the school hallway, and tells him that they need to meet up later on in the lecture hall, and he’ll give him all the information about the Blade Children.
Unfortunately, this never happens, ’cause Imazato is gassed by Rio using dry ice. Don’t ask, I still don’t understand this one, but I’ll try to explain it to you. Ryo fills a podium in the lecture hall with ice, and as it melted, it let off carbon dioxide.
The gas settled at the bottom of the hall where Imazato was, but Rio was standing at the top of the stairs, so she was unaffected. I’m telling you, these Blade Children are some geniuses, but I’m not clear on one thing.
Okay, so now we know that carbon dioxide is a odorless gas, and if ingested in large quantities it can kill you. However it takes a hell of a lot of ice to kill someone in a large auditorium, and all Ryo had was a couple of bags, so how was Imazato able to be taken out so quickly?
With footprints left behind by Ryo, Ayumu is able to put a profile together, and now he’s coming after them, so Blade Children, watch out!
