DESCENDANTS OF DARKNESS-THE DEVIL’S TRILL PART 2-EPISODE 5-3 STARS

Now remember, in episode 4, the violinist Hijiri had a cornea transplant. Unfortunately, the donor that passed away sold his soul to the devil, and the contract was embedded in that cornea. Now Hijiri has to settle the terms of that contract, which includes the late violinist’s daughter, Kazusa.

Apparently, Kazusa’s dad, negotiated with the devil to make him a famous violinist. But he has to turn over his daughter after his goal is obtained. Now even though the guy is dead, Hijiri now possesses the cornea, so the contract still stands, and Kazusa can still be handed over to the devil.

Tsuzuki rest assures Hijiri, that no harm will come to him, while he’s around, but Hisoka ruins the fun by telling him that there are no guarantees. You know, I think Hisoka is just mad ’cause he can’t use spells like Tsuzuki. Oh my goodness, what kind of shinigami can’t use spells?

“Hisoka, your ass should be fired! Not only that, but you need to put some meat on your bones, you’re too damn skinny!” Now Tsuzuki wants Hijiri, and Kazusa to stay at the ministry for protection, but Hijiri says he’s not gonna hide from the devil. Besides that, he’s got a concert to attend.

Okay, Hijiri is really being a jerk right now, the devil just tried to take him out in the last episode, and almost succeeded, and now he’s trying to go off on his own, without any help. “Good luck dumb ass!” But you know Tsuzuki, he’s not gonna let Hijiri go out unprotected, so he stays close by.

So Hijiri returns to school, and stuff starts happening. First, he almost gets annihilated on the basketball court, next, a car tries to run him over…….while he’s walking on the sidewalk! Lastly, these rocks got bored, and decided to fall from the sky trying to hit Hijiri, but fortunately Tsuzuki, and Hisoka were right there to save him.

Ew, who asked Hisoka the I’m-a-shinigami-that-can’t-do-crap emo butt to come along? Back at the ministry (well, I guess that’s where they were) whips up a new dish in the kitchen, and asks Hijiri to try it. Hijiri almost passes out, as he goes running for the mints. “Tsuzuki, maybe you should just stick to being a death god, or whatever you are, and leave the cooking to somebody else.”

A couple of scenes later, Tsuzuki and the devil square off against each other. Oh yeah, Hitari finds out that the devil’s real name is Sagatanas, the leader of the spirit wanderers. Hey, I kind of like that name, let me try it out, “Hey Sagatanas, get your ass over here, and warm up my coffee!”

Sagatanas is trying to blow Tsuzuki away with this fire breath, so he uses a spell to bring out this wicked white tiger. After a good fight, this white tiger finally spanks the devil, but not before he bites Tsuzuki. Uh oh, now we have a devil possessed shinigami running around.

Well, that’s okay, as long as Sagatanas doesn’t destroy Tsuzuki’s good looks, I guess I can live with him being a little devilish right now. We’ll just have to wait ’till the next episode to see how Tsuzuki plans to fight this!
