In this episode, we finally get to hear Matusalen’s hard luck story on how he lost his wife at the hands of the terrans, and the Vatican. But he has no proof that she was actually murdered. All he knows is that she went into town, and never returned.
And now, Matusalen wants his revenge by using the star of sorrow to take out the Vatican. Oh wait, let me tell you about the star of sorrow, it’s supposed to be some kind of a satellite orbiting earth’s outer atmosphere. Hmmmm, I wonder how he got that thing way out there?
Anyway, a module on the moon transmits electricity to the satellite, which in turn, transmits electric power to the earth’s surface. Hmmmm, I wonder how that thing got on the moon? Now this satellite was supposed to restore vitality to the city of Istvan, but Matusalen never explains exactly how this is to be achieved.
According to him, the Vatican grew suspicious and thought the star would be used for an attack, so they got the city to turn on Matusalen, and kill his wife. C’mon, that doesn’t really sound like the Vatican, oh wait, I forgot about Francesco the vampire hater and warmonger, so maybe it is true.
Matusalen plans to use the star to blow the Vatican to kingdom come, but Nightroad tries to stop him with a gun, but he’s rendered powerless. “C’mon Nightroad! If you’re gonna own, you really need to learn how to handle a gun, ’cause you suck right now!” Unfortunately, Nightroad is manhandled for a bit, then tied up.
Now it’s Esther’s turn to try to help, but of course a terran nun is no match for a vampire, and she’s pushed to the ground. Oh well, I guess everybody at the vatican should start saying their goodbyes! Speaking of the Vatican, Francesco is in an uproar because Matusalen’s men burned St. Mathias to the ground, and now he wants some vampire bloodshed.
He convinces the boy pope to send out a fleet, but they’re quickly annihilated by the star of sorrow. Catherina who’s probably the only sane one in the vatican, dispatches Tres, who comes to Nightroad’s rescue. And of course, he comes crashing in, spraying bullets all over the damn place, like some wild cowboy. You know, I really think he enjoys his job.
Next, the star goes off within miles of where Matusalen lives, and he wigs out. What in the hell is going on, he didn’t authorize that attack! Well, we find out that it was his former partner in crime, Dietrich, who’s working for his own band of goons, Rosenkreuz, to start a global war.
Okay, but if that happens, where is Deitrich gonna be, in outer space somewhere with the star of sorrow? Take a good look at this picture, I know someone who says that Dietrich is sexy as a snake, but I’m sorry, I don’t see it. I’m not sure how to describe him, but to me, he’s far from sexy. I mean, he’s all right, but………..
Anyway, we find out that Dietrich betrayed both Matusalen, and Esther as he comes to them in a hologram to say what a bad boy he’s been. Remember, he was with Esther in the church in the last episode, and he’s supposed to be dead. Now how he was able to fake a death is anybody’s guess.
Just to have a little fun, Dietrich gives Matusalen, and Esther the code needed to deactivate the star, but Matusalen refuses to use it, and decides to take out Esther so that she can’t use it either. You see, he still thinks that he can gain control of it, but it’s too late. It’s now crusnik time as Nightroad comes rushing in, and smacks Matusalen around, while Esther uses the code to try to stop the star.
“Esther, turn around real quick, so that you can see what Nightroad really looks like, a punk rock emo crusnik! Now after some major vampire owning, Matusalen is messed up so badly that he actually loses a few limbs along the way. Well, we can’t worry about him right now, ’cause Esther is having a hard time deactivating the star.
So Nightroad steps in, and after all this technological talk that comes out of his mouth, the star blows up outside of the earth’s atmosphere. Where is Nightroad getting all these technical skills to deactivate satellites, and navigate planes? Matusalen sees the end nearing, and to speed up the process, he stabs himself in the heart, apologizes for his crimes, and dies in Esther’s arms. Damn! And he was cute too! I wonder who’s gonna get that nice house he was living in?

This episode opens with Tsuzuki about to chow down on all his favorite sweets, until he gets called to go on another assignment. Oh well I guess he won’t be able to enjoy any of his pastries, however, Tatsumi has agreed to help him out on that one. “Too bad Tsuzuki, maybe you should have left that crap at home, remember what happened to your Cinnabon in episode 1?
Some people never learn, anyway, Tsuzuki’s new assignment is to infiltrate a luxury cruiser to find out why people on the verge of death are suddenly gaining longevity. Next scene, Tsuzuki is on the boat, undercover as a poker dealer, and he’s pretty good at his job. In fact he may be too good, as his starts pissing off some of the other players who keep losing to him.
Here we meet Tatsuki, and I must say, this kid is kind of cute, but also kind of dumb, talkin’ about the ship being haunted. Now what dummy if gonna fall for that? Well, I shouldn’t say anything, after all, if shinigamis can exists, so can ghosts.
Tsuzuki tries to get to the VIP room, and what do ya know, the notorious villain Muraki is back! “Okay Tsuzuki, this is your chance to beat his ass after what he did to you and Hisoka awhile back. ” Now the two of them end up sittin’ at a table with some wine, and Muraki is hittin’ on him as usual.
When is Muraki gonna get it into his head that Tsuzuki is mine, and he’s gonna have to go find somebody else? But he better leave Hisoka alone too, since I’m beginning to like him now, especially after he helped own the devil in episode 6.
Next scene, we have a dead body, with a ripped out heart, and fingers are being pointed in every direction. No one in the VIP room is getting off the hook, and that includes Muraki, who is the owner of the ship’s daughter’s physician. Does that sound right?
Back to Muraki who’s still hitting on Tsuzuki, and this time he brings roses. Oh my, I don’t think I can top that one, roses are pretty expensive. However, Tsuzuki doesn’t seem to care, he just wants the 411 on what’s going down on that ship, and Muraki may be able to shed some light on the situation.
He suggests a card game. If Tsuzuki wins, he gets the information. If Muraki wins, he gets Tsuzuki’s body. Needless to say Tsuzuki falls for this, and loses the poker game. “TSUZUKI, YOU DUMBASS! And Muraki was probably cheatin’ too! I don’t want to see one tear fall from your eyes, ’cause this is all your fault! Whoever heard of bartering your body for a piece of information that may or may not be true?”
While Muraki is ready to get busy, Hisoka comes to the rescue to bail Tsuzuki out with another card game. If he wins, Tsuzuki is off the hook. You know, Hisoka is really turning out to be a hardcore shinigami, and I’m really beginning to like his style. And you know what, he’s actually kind of cute too, but don’t tell anybody I said that, I don’t want to be accused of robbing the cradle.
Hisoka beats Muraki at poker with a royal flush, and Tsuzuki is saved. “Good job Hisoka, you really saved Tsuzuki’s ass, and I mean that figuratively, and literally. But the more I think about it, maybe Hisoka shouldn’t have intervened, I mean, supposed Tsuzuki lost that game on purpose?
Next scene, Muraki ends up dead, but we know that’s a bunch of B.S. and he really has something up his sleeve, but we’ll just have to wait ’till the next episode to find out what it is.

Father Nightroad arrives in Istvan to search for the star of sorrow, and I’ll tell you what that is later. Sister Esther is supposed to meet him, but she just got done killing Col. Radocan, so she’ll be along right after she takes a shower to get all the blood off. Hours pass, and officers of Istvan find Nightroad, and take him to Matusalen (aka cute guy #4).
Now Matusalen is a rich and powerful vampire with a chip on his shoulders. He hates humans (referred to as terrans in the show), and despises the church, ’cause he thinks they’re responsible for his wife’s death. “Okay Matusalen, you need to get over it already, the lady is dead, and she’s not comin’ back, so get over it! By the way, if you give me your phone number………………”
While Matusalen is laying down some rules for Nightroad to follow if he wants to stay in the city, Sister Esther arrives to take him back to St. Mathias. Esther has a chip on her shoulders too, since Matusalen’s men are responsible for the Bishop Laura’s death.
Laura is a nun that raised Esther in the church, but now she’s dead, so let’s not waste time talking about her. All you need to know is that Laura is gone, and Esther got payback by killing one of the guy’s responsible. Imagine that, a nun committing murder.
Vampire hater and warmonger Francesco is pissed off that Matusalen has control over Istvan, and he wants to take military action. But the Boy Pope is having trouble deciding on what action to take. Can somebody please tell me why the Pope is some kid that probably hasn’t hit puberty yet?
Back at St. Mathias, Nightroad finally gets some food in his belly, even though it’s nothing but bread and porridge. Ew, you mean oatmeal? Isn’t that poor people’s food? Well, it doesn’t fill him up anyway, as he gets up in the middle of the night to scrounge around for something else to put in his belly.
“If you’re hungry Nightroad, why don’t you just go get a vampire to eat, since you are a crusnik, and you feed on vampire blood? Anyway, he overhears Esther and a guy named Dietrich plotting to kill Matusalen now. You know, some ladies think Dietrich should be cute guy #5, but I think he looks like crap, so he won’t be included.
Of course Nightroad tries to talk them out of it committing murder, but it’s too late…….for Dietrich that is, since he’s shot on site by Matusalen’s goons. Esther wigs out, and goes for a gun to try to avenge his death, which is kind of stupid, since she can’t take on a whole army with one gun. Nightroad stops her, but she’s arrested for the colonel’s murder.
On top of that, Matusalen’s men burn the church down. Uh oh, they’ve done it now! Now the Vatican is gonna get involved, but you’ll just have to wait for the next episode to see what happens next!
